CareerGear Computer Training
KANSEL offers basic training for students to improve their skills and knowledge of computers. KANSEL offers the following courses:
KEYBOARDING
Learn the basic techniques needed to learn how to type or to increase typing speed and accuracy. Students learn to use a software program that includes lessons and games to teach typing. Class materials and unlimited computer lab practice time included while enrolled. Students should have a proficiency of 20 WPM when leaving class/entering additional classes. This course is a prerequisite for all other computer classes. Cost: $50
COMPUTER LITERACY
This is a basic computer course designed for FIRST time users and is designed to familiarize the student with basic computer operations, terminology, use of the mouse, Microsoft programs and capabilities. Students will learn Windows 2000. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment Cost: $100
MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD
Word I, Basic - Students learn the basics of using Microsoft Office WORD. Area's covered include how to create, format and edit a document, create and format tables, how to insert word art and auto text, and how to insert Clip art. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment Cost: $125
Word II, Intermediate - Students will learn to illustrate documents with graphics, create a web page, add hyperlinks, mail merge, create labels, work with styles and templates, and how to develop multi page documents. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment, MS Office Word I Basic Cost: $125
Word III, Advanced – Students will learn to integrating Word with other programs; such as Excel and Access, explore advanced graphics, build forms, work with charts and diagrams, and collaborate with workgroups. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment, MS Office Word I Basic & II Cost: $125
MICROSOFT OFFICE EXCEL
Excel I, Basic - Students learn the basics of using Microsoft Office Excel including how to create, format and edit a spreadsheet, how to use and create basic formulas to perform calculations in a worksheet, and how to preview and print a worksheet. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment Cost: $125
Excel II Intermediate - Students learn how to manage workbooks and prepare them for the web, automating worksheet tasks, plan and create lists, analyzing list data, enhancing charts and worksheets, and how to use a what if analysis. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment, MS Office Excel I Cost: $125
Excel III Advanced - Students learn analyzing data with pivot tables, how to exchange data with other programs, sharing Excel files and incorporating web information, customizing Excel and advanced worksheet management, and programming with Excel. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment, MS Office Excel I & II Cost: $125
MICROSOFT OFFICE ACCESS
Access I, Basic - Students learn the basics of using Microsoft Office Access. They will learn how to edit and enter records, use tables and queries, create and use forms and reports, and how to modify the database structure. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment Cost: $125
Access II, Intermediate – Students learn how to create multiple table queries, develop forms and sub forms, sharing information and improving reports, share information with other office programs and how to create data Access pages. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment, MS Access I Cost: $125
Access III, Advanced – Students learn creating advanced queries, creating advanced forms and reports, managing database objects, creating macros, creating modules and VBA and how to manage the database. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment, MS Access I & II Cost: $125
MICROSOFT OFFICE POWERPOINT
Students will learn how to create, modify, enhance, and customize a presentation, enhance a chart, how to work with embedded and linked objects and hyperlinks and how to use the advanced features of PowerPoint. Prerequisite: Computer Assessment Cost: $125 |
